Course aim
To improve the forecasting and awareness of aviation weather impact
variables and to review new developments in aeronautical meteorology
using the aeronautical meteorological forecaster guidelines as described
in WMO-No.258.

This is a five day course and courses are arranged to suit customer
requirements.

- Understanding METARs, TAFs and Trends
- Tephigrams revision
- Diagnosing and forecasting turbulence
- Diagnosing and forecasting icing
- Diagnosing and forecasting CB-Clouds and severe convection
- Diagnosing and forecasting low cloud and poor visibility
- Snow forecasting techniques
- Understanding aviation charts and warnings
Courses may be tailored to meet your specific needs and are prepared
and provided to a set of internationally recognised standards,
as described by the World Meteorological Organisation training
and education guidelines document, WMO-No.258. These standards
have been adopted by ICAO to ensure best practice worldwide. The
UK Met Office fully endorses and adheres to these standards. All
courses are delivered in the English language.
