February Fishing has slowed a bit from the great daily release reports in January however we are still just getting into February and still have had some great days.
Craig Glauser who fished Jan 31 and had 10 sails and 300 lb Marlin fished the 2nd of February and had 1 sail release, 1 Dorado, 2 Snook and 1 Corvina.
Mark Holmes group on February 4 released 9 sails while celebrating a bachelor weekend.
Alan Langs fishing 2 days had 7 Sails and 1 Mahi offshore and inshore day had 5 Jacks, 5 Mackeral and 1 Roosterfish.
Bill Thayer with his TV crew had a Double Hook-up on Marlin and released 3 Sails
Frank Collison fishing 4 days on the Reel Deal has full days both inshore and offshore and releases 9 sails, 4 Mahi, Shark and inshore days Lots of Roosters, Mackeral, Snapper and Barracuda.
John Strawhacker on the 11th releases 5 Sails and on the 12th 8 Sails and 1 Mahi
February 13th Joe Predna starts off a 5 day fishing trip with 8 releases on the Reel Deal.

The 4th Week of January 2006 continues to be phenomenal fishing in Quepos. January 24 Harmon Bussen releases 12 Sailfish on the Reel Deal and returns on the 26 to release 11 sails and 1 Mahi.
Jeff Hundreiser on the 25th releases 14 sails and comes home all smiles.
John Newman on the 27th releases 11 sails and Jim Peabody on the 28th releases 12 sails.
Chris Lagrasse just arriving home from Iraq releases 12 sails on the 29th.
Craig Glauser on the 31st releases 10 sails and a 300 lb. Marlin.
All releases are aboard the Reel Deal captained by Glen Morales Campo and First Mate Jorge (Cheetah) Rave reviews on this fishing crew from all clients.
February promises to stay hot! |
January which is typically hot, hot, hot, for fishing in Quepos is living up to the expectations that we have grown to rely on. The first week of January was a little low on numbers, but as we approached the 2nd week the real numbers started to show.
David Payne fishing the Reel Deal on both the 8th and 9th Released 8 sails on first day and came back for more on the second day Releasing 9 sails and 2 Mahi.
On the 14th we had 9 sails, 5 Tuna and 3 Rainbow runners. January 20th Frederick Bifulco had a day with 8 Releases on Sails and 8 Mahi. Ralph Hornsby followed that trip with 9 sail releases on Saturday. The bite is on!
December The Reel Deal was out of the water for Maintenance, both engines overhauled but she is back in the water and ready for a full season of fishing Action.
November Fishing was just getting into the groove, Sails were a little sparse but numbers improved as we got towards the middle of the month. Fish were more interested in mating then eating. The Reel Deal of Quepos Sailfishing Charters has continued to have some terrific Fishing Reports in September and October How ever there has been some pretty tough storms roll thru in October.back on track now.
Dan Etter landed 9 sails with multiple Double Hookups. Emily Laduca on a half day charter on September 3 released a couple of Big Rooster fish and September 16, Angler Scott Fetzer landed 4 sails and a 600 pound Marlin on a half day charter. The offshore fishing continues to be outstanding and all of our anglers are fascinated that it is considered low season!
