E-commerce
E-commerce (electronic-commerce) refers to business over the Internet.
The two major forms of e-commerce are Business-to-Consumer (B2C) and Business-to-Business
(B2B). While companies like Amazon.com cater mostly to consumers, other
companies provide goods and services exclusively to other businesses.
The term "e-business" is often used synonymously with e-commerce.
E-mail
(Electronic-mail) The transmission of text messages and optional file
attachments over a network. Within an enterprise, users can send mail
to a single recipient or broadcast it to multiple users. Mail is sent
to a simulated mailbox in the network mail server or host computer until
it is examined and deleted.
E-mail Forwarding
E-mail forwarding is a process to redirect your incoming mail to a specific
mailbox. For example, if you have a number of email addresses, forwarding
all your email to a single mailbox allows you to keep track of them much
easier since you only need to check one mailbox. Email forwards are also
known as email aliases. NumaTek
Web Design offers an unlimited number of aliases with its hosting
services.
E-mail Marketing
A form of direct marketing which uses e-mail
as a means of communicating commercial or fundraising messages to an audience.
Every email sent to a potential or current customer could be considered
email marketing. However, the term is usually used to refer to:
- Sending e-mails with the purpose of enhancing the relationship of a merchant with its current or old customers and to encourage customer loyalty and repeat business.
- Sending e-mails with the purpose of acquiring new customers or convincing old customers to buy something immediately.
- Adding advertisements in e-mails sent by other companies to their customers.
