A recent study from AT&T; showed that 28 percent of their workforce provides and coordinates elder care to their aging parents. The annual costs associated with this phenomenon, is estimated to be $1142 per employee due to absenteeism, workday interruptions, eldercare crises and additional supervisor costs. AT&T; found that every elder care crisis caused an initial absenteeism of four to seven days with additional absenteeism throughout the crisis.
