It is not unusual that GreyBeard shares responsibility the web development effort with our clients.

In this case, our client purchased Macromedia's Contribute 2 product, which turned out to be a highly effective tool that allowed them to build all of the static pages within their site.
Jacobs Pillow

Category: E-Commerce, Database (Dynamic Content)

When we first met the folks at Jacobs Pillow, their web site design was fairly similar to what they have now, but the shopping system was not effective, and the site performance was extremely poor. Separate checkout processes were required for tickets, donations and general product purchases. Additionally, the site was built in frames and search engine placement was an issue. They wanted these critical problems solved, while largely adhering to the existing design elements.

Our role in this project was to take the original design and re-implement the site "template" without frames, to develop an online ticketing system, and to integrate an overall shopping solution.

The Pillow uses a ticketing system to run their box office. We built a web-based application to manage the shows, performances and ticket prices. Exporting their ticketing database into a series of tables, we populated that system, as well as adding products to the Storefront 5.0 product table. With that in place, we were able to launch a tightly integrated solution for online ticket sales. Click the "Purchase Tickets" button on this page to begin your self-directed tour!

Category: Informational

Our client needed a solution: she represents a consortium of commercial food illustrators and commercial map illustrators, and wanted a way of showing both portfolios in one site.

Our solution was to design a front page theme that drew from both categories, and to link the respective images to each portfolio.

As is the case with many of our projects, the product administration is completely handled by our client, allowing them autonomy and flexibility as to how quickly the online inventory grows, and how current their information remains.
UBEADIT Sacramento

Category: E-Commerce, Database (Dynamic Content)

UBEADIT is a successful retail enterprise in Sacramento, CA. Their web store features Storefront 5, plus a pair of custom database tables which facilitate their class and event schedules.

To gain inspiration for the site design theme, we started with images of their store interior, sampled the colors from the tasteful faux paint job, and that led to the color selections for the site.

California Fly Fisher

Category: E-Commerce, Database (Dynamic Content)

California Fly Fisher has earned, over the past several years, a reputation for being the finest publication dedicated to angling with flies in California. As such, it was an honor to gain the opportunity to develop their online presence.

Implementing Storefront 5.0 e-commerce to handle magazine subscriptions, we then produced a series of administrative tools to facilitate management of a searchable index of past issues, as well as the details of the current issue.

Marine Electronics Unlimited
www.Marine-Electronics-Unlimited.com

Category: E-Commerce, Database (Dynamic Content)

This site provided an opportunity to exercise some interesting strategies. Operating against the same database and image library as its sister-site Star Marine Depot, we crafted a solution that allows selected products and categories to appear in both sites. This allows our client to manage multiple boutique web stores, while managing a single product database.
