Canada ESL EcoTours
WE OFFER HOMESTAY
Visit the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada
on supervised excursions led by certified TEFL instructor

We offer homestay and English Language lessons at our home in the lovely coastal town of Gibsons, B.C., Canada, only one and a half hours from the city of Vancouver. We have a wonderful view of the mountains, islands and the sea, and many hiking trails and safe cycling areas close by. Gibsons is accessed by a ferry boat, during the 45 minute sail the traveler can enjoy a meal, fresh air out on deck, and exquisite scenery.

We offer our students either one furnished room in our house with wireless, telephone, and a large desk or an independent cabin on our premises. The student is encouraged to feel comfortable and participate in activities in the community. The cozy separate cabin is fully furnished, located near a pond, large trees with a spectacular view of mountains and the sea. It also includes, TV, microwave and wireless internet.

Evi Blueth is an ESL instructor with a variety of experience. She taught large classes in China, but also tutors all levels of English using an innovative approach. She tailors her lessons to the needs and interests of each student. Classes are often taught while wandering in the Rain Forest or visiting the local Native Gallery. She also offers to find the student volunteer work, or paid work (if they have a working visa). Real life experience coupled with lessons speeds up language learning and makes life exciting and fulfilling for the student.

Ivan Tentchoff, Evi's partner, previously a math teacher and mariner, also taught English in China and is available, particularly if the student has an interest in math, global politics, economics or science. He is a terrific chef and a welcoming host.

The small town of Gibsons is a safe friendly community, with many beaches, hikes, gift shops and two theatres. It has an English speaking population and provides the student with a better backdrop for learning than Vancouver, which is now 40% Asian.
