| We are pleased to invite you to participate
in our annual strategic planning process for FY 2009. We
want to learn
about your priorities and how they relate to the mission
and strategic focus of NOAA. In prior years, NOAA has held
a national forum to obtain stakeholder views. We will continue
to hold this important forum in conjunction with the periodic
revision of NOAA’s Strategic Plan. This year NOAA will
add new methods for stakeholder feedback to build on
our established channels of ongoing dialog, including
your comments here plus feedback received by NOAA programs
and by NOAA leadership over the course of the year. To
help shape priorities for the 2009-2013 planning period,
NOAA's
Office of Program Planning and Integration will present
an analysis of these comments and related input to NOAA
leadership.
We invite you to provide us with comments
and recommendations that reflect your vision of the future.
As you think
about NOAA priorities, please consider the issues and
trends
that
you believe are key to effective long-term NOAA planning,
focusing on emerging societal needs, market trends,
and technologies that could affect NOAA’s portfolio
of services. You will find NOAA’s current
strategic priorities at http://www.ppi.noaa.gov/AGM_FY08.pdf
As we
envision the
future, we look forward to learning how you
envision it, too. Thank you for taking time to contribute
your views.
When you reply, we would appreciate (but
do not require) the inclusion of your name and organization
in your
email.
Please include all your comments within the body
of the email rather than attachments. We ask that you
provide your comments by March 9, 2006.
