Mistral Internet launches re-brand with new logo
Tuesday 24th October 2006

- bit10 drives Mistral logo forward in cannonball 8000-

Mistral Internet, the premier Internet Service Provider for businesses in the UK, has undergone a re-branding project with digital solutions agency bit10, to accommodate for the wider product base it has accumulated in the last 12 years and to represent the dramatic growth of the company, which now has a £22million turnover. Mistral has promoted this with an extensive marketing push at the recent Cannonball 8000 event, and an upcoming ‘around the world’ sailing expedition.

Mistral Internet chose to bring bit10 on board to re-design the logo following a competitive pitch process. Kat McClure comments, “We made the decision to re-brand as we felt our legacy logo was not representative of our company energy and the ever-evolving product and client base that Mistral has to offer. We were under a tight deadline for the logo in keeping with our re-branding schedule; therefore it was key that the company we chose to work with could comply with this. bit10 came back to us almost immediately with a suggested logo which we felt symbolised the motion and speed with which the company is moving. Following this we worked together on the detail and the new logo was completed in just three days.”

To launch the new logo Mistral chose to sponsor bit10 in its involvement in the Cannonball 8000 event, a 72hr rally across eight different countries. bit10 took to the race in a bright red Mitsubishi Evo sports car, which was hooked up through GPS live tracking to a web page using Mistral Internet services, and as a result there were 1000’s of hits to the website. McClure says, “The Cannonball 8000 event was a great opportunity to showcase our new logo, and following this we have taken the opportunity to sponsor Tony Bullimore on his ‘round the world’ sailing expedition, totalling 27,000 miles in just 70 days, which is a great cause and an interesting way to promote our new logo.”

Mistral is looking to push the logo beyond the website onto company collateral and also across its computer screen icons. It is also looking to launch a number of new products over the coming months for which the new logo will be representative of the company image. On working with bit10, McClure comments, “bit10 really impressed us with their ability and the professionalism with which they delivered our required logo. They stood out as an organisation because they project a definite energy for what they do, and this was echoed in the rapid 3 day turn around of the finished product. We are already looking to continue our work with bit10 across the rest of the re-branding project.”
