Coast
Guard Inspection Program
Each
year, KRPGA guides are given the opportunity to have their boats inspected
by the US Coast Guard for safety and regulatory compliance. Each
boat that is reviewed and approved during this pre-season inspection is
issued a sticker that is placed on a visible place on the boat.
Boats with these stickers are assured that they will not be pulled over
by a patrol for inspection on the river.
To
the angler who pays for guided fishing, this is a definite advantage as
it assures that valuable fishing time will not be wasted on a river inspection.
It also assures that the boat you are fishing from is safe for your party
and meets all Coast Guard safety standards. For
the guides, this saves time on the river to spend with clients.
This
years pre-season boat inspection will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2005,
in the Fred Meyer parking lot in Soldota from 9 am until 3 pm. All
KRPGA professional guide members are encouraged to attend.
