The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children®
(NCMEC) greatly appreciates your help in raising awareness about missing
and exploited children. In order to continue to successfully accomplish
its mission, however, NCMEC must protect its intellectual property. Following
are Terms of Use for NCMEC’s intellectual property.

NCMEC does not allow the use of its name, logo, or other marks (whether
registered or not) without its express written consent in the form of
a License Agreement signed by authorized NCMEC staff members.
Questions about and requests for use of NCMEC’s name, logo, or
other marks in connection with fundraising efforts and product or program
promotion should be directed to NCMEC’s Office of the Vice President
of Development and Communications. News agencies and all others may direct
requests to NCMEC’s Communications Department.

Terms of Use and Linking Agreement for
NCMEC Banners
NCMEC appreciates your use of its banners to promote NCMEC’s mission
and help find missing children. You may use NCMEC banners on your web
site, so long as your use complies with and you agree to the following
terms and conditions.
- You will not modify any NCMEC banner in any way.
- You will actively link any NCMEC banner you post on your web site
to http://www.missingkids.com.
- You will not use any NCMEC banner in any context that may place any
missing child in a false light.
- You will not use any NCMEC banner for any commercial or sponsorship
purpose.
- You will not use any NCMEC banner in any way that may create the impression
NCMEC benefits from the sale of your goods or services.
- You will not use any NCMEC banner in any way that may create an impression
of endorsement by NCMEC of any individual, entity, product, goods, services,
program, event, or web site.
- You will not use any NCMEC banner in any way that may create an impression
of affiliation, sponsorship, or partnership between NCMEC and you.
- You will not use any NCMEC banner in any context that may tarnish
NCMEC’s name or reputation.
- You will not use any NCMEC banner on any web site that includes pornography
or any content NCMEC finds in its absolute and sole discretion to be
lewd, obscene, vulgar, harassing, defamatory, offensive, or objectionable.
- You agree to immediately remove NCMEC’s banner(s) from your
web site if instructed to do so by NCMEC.
- All goodwill and improved reputation relating to any NCMEC marks
generated by your use of such NCMEC marks will inure to the benefit
of NCMEC. Nothing herein is intended to give you any rights in any NCMEC
marks.
- The laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia shall govern this agreement.
- You acknowledge NCMEC may periodically update this agreement and
you are responsible for checking www.missingkids.com to learn of any
changes.

in a list on “Useful Sites” and other similarly titled pages
and/or within text on your web site, so long as your use complies with
and you agree to the following terms and conditions.
- You will not use the Hypertext Link in any context that may place
any missing child in a false light.
- You will not use the Hypertext Link for any commercial or sponsorship
purpose.
- You will not use the Hypertext Link in any way that may create the
impression NCMEC benefits from the sale of your goods or services.
- You will not use the Hypertext Link in any way that may create an
impression of endorsement by NCMEC of any individual, entity, product,
goods, services, program, event, or web site.

Reprint Policy for NCMEC Publications
All NCMEC publications are copyrighted materials. Any individual, organization,
or entity wishing to use NCMEC’s copyrighted materials (“NCMEC
Materials”) may do so when the
- NCMEC Materials are to be used unaltered and in their entirety for
educational, noncommercial purposes. Under no circumstances are NCMEC
Materials to be used for fundraising purposes.
- NCMEC Materials will not be used in any way that may create an impression
of sponsorship or endorsement by NCMEC of any individual, entity, product,
service, program, or event.
- NCMEC Materials will not be used in any way that may create an impression
of any type of partnership or affiliated relationship between NCMEC
and you.
- National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is clearly noted
as the source of the information.
- Intended use will not conflict with NCMEC’s standards for child
safety.
- You will immediately discontinue use of the NCMEC Materials if requested
to do so by NCMEC.
- Without limiting any of the foregoing, specifically that NCMEC Materials
may only be used unaltered and in their entirety, each of NCMEC’s
publications contains a paragraph which includes a statement regarding
the Cooperative Agreement under which it was prepared, a statement that
the points of view or opinions in the work are those of the author and
do not necessarily represent the official position or policies of the
U.S. Department of Justice, and a statement regarding NCMEC trademarks;
any such paragraph may not be removed from any reprint of the NCMEC
Materials.
- The laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia shall govern this Reprint
Policy.
- You acknowledge NCMEC may periodically update the Reprint Policy
and you are responsible for checking www.missingkids.com to learn of
any changes.
When meeting the criteria noted above, you may add a line of text to
the reprint stating, “Provided courtesy of” and insert your
name and/or logo.
If you have space constraints and wish to reprint only an unaltered excerpt
from any NCMEC publication, you must submit a request to do so along with
a proof of the proposed reprint, including the surrounding text and imaging
(NCMEC may request more information), to NCMEC’s Office of the Vice
President of Development and Communications. NCMEC must ensure the integrity
of its publications, including ensuring the essence of a publication is
not lost in any reprinted excerpt. NCMEC retains the absolute and sole
discretion to deny any request. If NCMEC chooses to allow the reprint
of an excerpt, you must follow all other terms and conditions above.

Terms of Use for NCMEC’s Posters
NCMEC appreciates your using NCMEC's posters to help find missing children.
You may print and display the posters in their original format with NCMEC’s
toll-free number, so long as your use complies with and you agree to the
following terms and conditions.
- You will not modify the posters in any way, including but not limited
to adding or deleting text.
- When you receive notification that a child has been found or at anytime
NCMEC requests, you will immediately remove and destroy the posters.
- You will not use the posters for any purpose other than to help find
missing children. Without limiting the foregoing, under no circumstances
are the posters to be used for fundraising purposes.
- You will not use the posters in any way that may create the impression
NCMEC benefits from the sale of your goods or services.
- You will not use the posters in any way that may create an impression
of endorsement by NCMEC of any individual, entity, product, good, service,
program, event, or web site.
- You will not use the posters in any way that may create an impression
of any type of sponsorship, partnership or affiliated relationship between
NCMEC and you.
- All goodwill and improved reputation relating to any NCMEC marks
generated by your use of such NCMEC marks will inure to the benefit
of NCMEC. Nothing herein is intended to give you any rights in any NCMEC
marks.
- The laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia shall govern this agreement.
