Rewarding Great Workforce Strategies
Since 1998 SOREDI and the Rogue Valley Workforce Development Council have collaborated to recognize great workforce development strides in Southern Oregon.
SOREDI and it's economic development partners highly value workforce development; so much so that not only is it an integral part of the SOREDI vision statement, but it is one of SOREDI's six goals.
A vision was born in 1998 to recognize the efforts and successes of employers who were demonstrating an on-going commitment to employee training and team-oriented management. These successful businesses were and are those who recognize the value of their employees and their ability to grow professionally.
These companies are those whose wages exceed or show progress torwards Oregon's average covered wage, are those who offer tuition aid plans, and are those who provide specific opportunity for upward mobility in the company.
The 2006 award recipients include: Access, Inc, Medford; The Rogue Creamery, Central Point; Interior Office Concepts, Medford; Duro-Last Roofing, Inc., Grants Pass; Asante Health Systems. Read their individual stories by going to their page shown to the left. Recipients receive a $1000 grant, provided by the Rogue Valley Workforce Development Council, to use for additional training.
Applications for this annual award are generally accepted each year beginning in March and awarded at the SOREDI Annual Dinner in late June. SOREDI encourages all companies and non-profit organizations to apply.
