This park is located 25 miles north of Bandon on Hwy 101 and Seven Devils Road, near the mouth of Coos Bay at Charleston. Offshore islands are major breeding grounds for sea lions, seals, and birds. Southern observation deck provides a grand view of the coast.

Shore Acres State Park and Botanical Gardens

A former lumber baron estate with five acres of formal gardens and breathtaking ocean views is located 3.5 miles south on Cape Arago Hwy outside of Charleston. Holiday Light Celebration in December is a must (an admission fee is charged).

South Slough Estuarine Reserve

Off Cape Arago Hwy, on Seven Devils Rd., is a 4,400-acre freshwater and saltwater reserve with wonderful hiking and canoe trails. The visitor center is open daily June-August, weekdays the rest of the year.
