Another park in Yaletown that is worth a visit is the David Lam Park. It is a 10-acre park located between the False Creek and Pacific Boulevard and is bounded by Davie Street and Homer Mews on the east and west. This is a big park ideal for relaxation and just plain people watching with the well kept greeneries and gardens and its proximity to the seawall. There is also enough wide space on this park that makes it ideal too for health buffs who would like to jog or brisk walk and appreciate the surroundings. Round House Community Arts & Recreation Centre is a heritage site that once housed and serviced steam locomotives since 1888 until diesel-powered engines made the locomotives obsolete the Roundhouse did not serve its purpose anymore. Local enthusiasts barricaded the plans for demolishing this building, refurbished it, and gave it another lease of life now as a facility devoted to Yaletown’s community development through arts and culture. |
