Ivan O'Connell, Broadford, Co. Clare reports on a trip to the River Shannon at O'Brien's Bridge in October
"I fished the Rowing Course section of the river on Tuesday the 31st of October just before the first heavy frosts arrived and had a lovely catch of about 30lbs of mainly roach to 1lb on 7m pole to hand. After the heavy rains there was a lovely colour in the water and this stretch always fishes well in these conditions. The heavy frosts combined with clear water will hamper sport for a while until some milder weather returns the colour to the water".
