Information

Elkton

Elkton, situated at the junction of Elk Creek and the Umpqua River, was settled in the 1850's. The Hudson's Bay Company maintained Fort Umpqua in the vicinity, and Elkton was an early-day Douglas County seat. Not many historic buildings remain, due to a long history of fires and floods, but several local wineries make this an interesting stop.
