The primary mission of OIS is to provide
centralized computer services and information systems resources
for the entire School of Medicine community, from medical
students to faculty to administrative staff. Services provided
by OIS include: email support, applications support for administrative
and clinical applications, applications development support,
telephone and deskside help desk support, resources supporting
research activities, support for departmental Local Area
Networks (LANs) and network access to resources available
on campus and the Internet. OIS also provides extensive web
development and support, including design and development
of the primary School of Medicine web site ( www.med.unc.edu ),
development and support of the on-line curriculum for medical
students, development of web sites for several major departments,
and development of numerous web-based database projects.
 Several OIS Divisions have moved. Please note the new locations for OIS Client Services, Digital Media Services and the Faculty Multimedia Lab.
