Vancouver is the principal departure point for cruises up the British Columbia's inland passage to Alaska.  Cruise ships depart from Vancouver every day or two during the spring and summer months.

The cruise ship terminal is centrally located at Canada Place in downtown Vancouver.  The views from the terminal are spectacular, particularly in springtime when the north shore mountains are snow-covered.  Whether or not you plan to take a cruise, a walk around Canada Place is strongly recommended.  From the cruise ship terminal, you can either walk south into the trendy Gastown area or north along Coal Harbour waterfront.

All the major cruise ship lines offer cruise packages departing from Vancouver.  If you visit a local travel agency, it is often possible to obtain low cost last minute fares.  The repositioning cruises in the spring or fall that take ships between Vancouver and Hawaii or Vancouver and Los Angeles frequently offer discounted fares.
