CARMONA is situated near the beautiful river "Chico" , approximately
1.5 kilometres above Orgiva, the main town of the Alpujarras. The estate offers
spectacular views of the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains (the Sierra
Lujar - 1800m) and an amazing panorama of the valley surrounding Orgiva. CORTIJO
CARMONA itself is a converted farm ("finca") and there are two semi-detached
holiday homes within its grounds - CASA NARANJO and CASA LIMONERO - surrounded
by a beautiful garden offering complete privacy. The two houses are located
in the lower part of the estate, whilst the upper part comprises a large open
lawn and swimming pool. The whole property is very well maintained, including
the gardens, and is surrounded by a wide variety of tropical shrubs and trees.
Both houses comprise 2 bedrooms, a living-room, bathroom and kitchen
and together can accommodate up to 8 people. Each home has its own partly
covered terrace next to the lounge and open-plan kitchen. They are modern houses,
finished in 2003 and designed in typical Alpujarran style. The roofs are supported
by wooden beams and the bathrooms are elegantly tiled in Arabic fashion. CASA
LIMONERO lies to the east of the estate and CASA NARANJO to the west and nearer
to the pool area. The household furnishings and well-equipped kitchens are in
excellent condition and both houses are heated with glass protected fire places.
There are also several electric heaters at the customer's disposal. The
private swimming pool and surrounding area is a lovely place to unwind and enjoy
the Andalusian sun. It is a large, attractively-designed pool (10x4m) and
there are plenty of sun beds and garden furniture for complete relaxation. CORTIJO
CARMONA would be the perfect choice for a large family or two smaller families
travelling together. One of its main advantages is the quiet and remote location
and yet it is only 12-15 minutes walk away from Orgiva and all its facilities.
It is the ideal location to escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
There are also plenty of places nearby worth visiting, including Granada, the
beaches on the Costa Tropical and the charming whitewashed villages of the Alpujarras.
