  We offer 7, 10 and 15 day Alaska hunting trips and wilderness fishing  trips. You will explore and have the opportunity to hunt over 3000 square miles of the Arctic, North in the foot hills of the North side of the Brooks Range in unit 26 bordering the Gates of Arctic National Park and Preserve. Master Guide/Pilot Dennis Reiner is licensed to hunt in unit 26,17 and 9, he has been Guiding Alaska Caribou hunting and Grizzly Bear hunts in Alaska for 30 years and been  flying commercially for the past 20 years with over 5000 hrs in Alaska with a 100% clean safety record.   Professional Bush Pilot/Master Guide Dennis Reiner will be Chief Pilot/Guide and Operations manager of Arctic North Guides  located in the Brooks Range specializing in Trophy Arctic Grizzly bear, Dall Sheep and Alaska Caribou. With his extensive background experience guiding and hunting in the Arctic North Brookes range you will be assured a 1st class hunt with Arctic North.  

Pilot/guide Phil Byrd    Phil Has been guiding full time for the past 4 years and recently started flying he is also a USCG licensed boat captain and licensed  big game transporter in the state of Alaska, Phil is a 100% full time guide as he guides Hunting guest's 4 months a year in Alaska and fishing guest's 4 months a year. Phil has turned into a superb young guide that is ambitious and driven. Phil will be guiding and flying in the brooks range during the 2006 season and also guiding fisherman and hunters on the Alaska Peninsula out of King Salmon. In his spare time he is a world-Class waterfowl hunting guide.

Pilot/guide Charlie Summerville - Recently retired from all big game hunting activities. Charlie has actively guided for the past 20 years in the field and has decided to retire from Big game guiding to concentrate on Marketing & Sales. He has been guiding  on the Alaska Peninsula  and guiding wilderness fishing and raft trips since 1985 in Alaska, He has held a Coast Guard License since 1985 to transport passengers for hire and is a licensed Bush pilot with over 2000 hours flying out of King Salmon.  Charlie Manages the office and web development and is responsible for all outside marketing and sales.  He still spend all summer in there guide area as he runs the fishing lodge May-Sept on the Alagnak river.  With his unmatched vast knowledge of the Alaska Bush and especially the Alagnak Drainage and Alaskan Peninsula  Charlie brings a valuable asset to the operations logistics and overall marketing success.                                       

Registered Guide Scott Deslauries has personally guided over 50 successful Brown Bear& Grizzly Bear hunts, numerous B&C Moose and to many Caribou to count on the Alaska Peninsula in units 9C-9E & 17b in his career spanning over the past 15 years. As one of the most reputable guides on the Alaska Peninsula he has spent his entire career guiding in the bush not sitting in a base camp telling stories. Scott Personally contracts and supervises each hunt and  guides 4-5 hunters per season him self.  He resides in Palmer Alaska with his wife and daughters in the off season and runs his very successful marine fabrication business.

Travel To Hunting Camp  

  Travel to this part of Alaska is simple fly to Fairbanks Alaska stay over night at the Best western there shuttle bus will take you at 7:45 to catch the 8am flight on wrights air to Anaktuvik Pass Village. We will have a reservation with them for you.  We will meet you at Anaktuvik Pass Village with our airplane and fly you to our main lodge or near bye spike camp. 

    At the airport in Fairbanks you will be met by a representative from Best western Hotel and your luggage will be transported in ther courtesy van. You can pick up any last minute items at the local store that you may have forgotten.. 

   Wrights Air service handles all of our Charters to Anaktuvik Pass village and the $3600pp one  time fee will be paid directly to them at the terminal in cash,travelers  check or credit card. You will be loaded into one of their 5 meticulously maintained Cessna 208 Caravans airplanes for the 90 minute scenic flight to the village. All guests will have to fly to Fairbanks the previous day, spend the night, and catch the morning flight to Anaktuvik with wrights air. At the end of your trip, we will return you to the local airport in Anaktuvik where you will catch a return flight to fairbanks arriving in the late afternoon.                                                                            Return to top of Page

Alaska Hunting Weather

    The weather in this part of Alaska is fairly stable but unpredictable, Storms can move through during the season. During May the daily temperature averages 45-60 degrees, with night time reaching the mid 30's. During the fall hunts starting in early September the weather is generally warm for Alaska standards with day time temperatures reaching mid 60's and nights in  the 40's. September temperatures start cooling off with  days in the low 50's and the nights dipping into the mid 30's by the 15th with ever increasing wind and rain possible. Early October Bear season you can expect days reaching 45-50 and nights below freezing so dress accordingly, By the middle of October we will start having light snow in the mountains and the day time temperatures will reach 35-50 and night time can dip to 20 Everyone should pack and dress accordingly in layers of Polar fleece with a good rain and wind shell as the outer layer and also to include a warm hat and gloves and a 0 degree sleeping bag.  Katmai is known for its mild winds, as it averages 5-10mph in King Salmon at the airport.   If you are planning a fly out to one of our remote camps,  please remember that if the winds exceed 25mph, we will not fly our small planes with passengers aboard for  safety reasons.
