The Far Flung Outdoor Center (FFOC) had its beginning via the combination of two well-known companies – Far Flung Adventures and Texas River Expeditions. Both companies have been serving the Big Bend area for over 30 years.
Because of growing interest in the Big Bend region, FFOC has developed a wide variety of programs to suit the active traveler’s interest Guests can float the river (by canoe or raft) through Big Bend National Park for a day or join one of our multi-day trips through one of five major canyons formed by the mighty Rio Grande.
Big Bend National Park is one of the nation’s largest and most remote parks in the lower 48 states. Far Flung Outdoor Center is proud to be the leading outfitter for fun, interpretive adventures within the park and surrounding area. Jeep tours depart daily from the FFOC office and offer the visitor an inside look at the human, cultural, geologic, botanical and natural history of Big Bend. For guests that want a more interactive experience, FFOC offers guided ATV tours - a perfect way to see Big Bend’s backcountry!
Known as the "Active Traveler’s Outpost in Big Bend" the FFOC offers a wide variety of specialty and combination trips that include Texas folk music, gourmet foods, wine tastings, star parties (with the local Observatory) and New Year’s Eve celebrations.
