Charlie Summerville
Experienced professional Alaska fly fishing guides are the heart
and sole of our business. Owner/head guide Charlie Summerville has
been in the trenches guiding as an Alaska fishing guide since he was
19 years old and guiding fly fisherman in Bristol Bay Alaska for the
past 20 seasons. With over 8,000 hours rowing drift boats for salmon
and Steelhead and close to 20,000 hours operating jet boats in
Alaska guiding fisherman Charlie has reached a Legendary status
known by few guides, Charlie still averages 100 days a year on
the water at the age of 40 along with running the day to day business.
Guiding in the field alongside his staff each day helps him to
remember where he came from and to keep his pulse on the daily fishing
conditions. Alaska Trophy Adventures knows the true value of a
professional fly fishing guide. Charlie has earned his guides respect
by being a leader and one of the top guides in all of Bristol bay day
in and day out and he expects the highest standards and conduct of
his fellow professional fly fishing guides.
Captain Don Kingsley
Lodge Manager/ Senior guide 10years
Raised
in upstate New York, Don has been guiding fisherman on the salmon
river for 20 years! In the fishing community Don is
looked to by many to have achieved legend status. Alaska Adventures
staff and guides look to Don for continued guidance as his life long
experiences can solve most day to day problems. He will tell you
with his humble tone that he does not know anything, and what he
does know he sucks at ! but don't let him fool you. Don has guided
on the lower Alagnak River boon dogging and back trolling the
tidewaters for fresh kings and Silvers as well as being an expert
fly fishing guide on the upper Alagnak for Trout-Grayling. His boat
always comes back to camp with huge numbers and there is no secret
why, old, age and treachery will out fish youth. Don is a
retired Master Electrician and Electrical contractor and runs Alaska
Adventures Camp with a stern voice keeping the infrastructure
running smooth. In the off season Don continues to run his own guide
service Tight Lines Guide Service out of Pulaski, New York,
for Steelhead and Salmon. Don is a loyal friend and fair boss
to all the Alaska Adventure employees due mainly to his past life
experiences in business and personnel matters.
Pilot/Guide Captain
Phil Byrd 5 years
Raised
in Eastern North Carolina as a fishing guide on the Outer Banks and
Pamlico Sound for Stripers, tarpon, tuna and drum and guiding
waterfowl full time in the fall. Phil moved to Alaska full time in
2005 ready to get serious. Charlie met Phil when he was 16 at a CCA
banquet and he asked Charlie for a job, Charlie recommended for him
to get a few years more experience Wow did he ever. Phil came
to work for us at 23 as the most motivated young guide The staff at
Alaska Adventures has had the pleasure to work with. Phil started
his Alaska career guiding fishing and hunting for 2 years on Kodiak
Island before we were lucky enough to have this great guide come
back to join our Team of Professional Guides. Phil is many things:
an entrepreneur, outdoor Guide Phil Byrd
holding Norms Kukaklek Rainbow enthusiast, bird hunter and salt water
angler not to mention a fine bush pilot, fly fisherman and jet boat
captain, Mechanic and Carpenter. Phil holds a Bush pilots
license in Alaska along with a big game asst. hunting guide license
and a professional water fowl guide license. Phil purchased and has
has taken over all the big game and waterfowl guiding operations.
You will probably see Phil in King Salmon coordinating many of the
day to day logistics along with guiding salmon and trout fisherman
in June and July or helping out in the office answering phones.
During the fall Phil can be found guiding big game and water fowl
hunters through out wilderness Alaska and attending Sport shows and
conventions on the east coast as a guest speaker and exhibitor
representing Alaska-Adventures or Aleutian Island Water fowlers and
Arctic-North-Guides our sister companies that Phil is an
owner/operator of. Phil is our go-to guy when there is a
problem he always finds a way to make it happen and is an
important part of the overall management team.
Captain Kevin
Bonasera 4 year
Raised in Columbus Ohio fishing steelhead and
Bass in the great lakes tributaries, raft guide and float fishing
guide in Colorado on the Gunnison and Taylor Rivers, ski instructor
for Crested Butte Mountain Resort, and a jet boat captain at Lees
Ferry of the Colorado River before coming to work full time with
Alaska Adventures. Kevin holds in undergraduate degree in business
administration from Ohio Dominican University and know resides
as our full time office manager and sales executive during the winter
season and in conjunction with Alaska Adventures will be starting an
international Fly fishing travel company. As one of our veteran fly
fishing guides, Kevin knows the Upper Braids of the Alagnak River
like the back of his hand. Kevin is one of
Guide Kevin B with a whopper June 2006 our top casting
instructors and heads our annual guide school in June. If your
looking for giant rainbows this is Kevin's specialty. In the
off season you will run into Kevin at the sport shows or seminars
doing presentations about Alaska. During November Kevin guides
steelhead fishermen in the great lakes tributaries of PA.
Captain Justin
Bleicher 3 years
Raised on the Outer Banks in Eastern North
Carolina fishing for tuna, tarpon and stripers. Justin holds an
undergraduate degree in Geology from Eastern Carolina University.
With over 15 years as a professional guide Justin has a
background in commercial fishing and has more boat time than can be
counted on one hand. Justin is a duck hunting connoisseur and a
world class waterfowl guide. Probably the kindest individual you
will ever meet, Justin is an important part of Alaska Adventures.
Justin is dubbed Head Captain and shuttle man moving both clients
and gear up and down the river rain or shine. A fine boat captain
and guide Justin will make your gut hurt with his hilarity, charm
you with his southern hospitality, and make your arm hurt with the
numbers you catch. In the off season Justin can be found guiding Duck
hunting on Currituck sound or remote Alaska.
Captain Patrick
McIntyre 3 years
Raised in Northern California, Pat spent lots
of his time fly fishing for steelhead and trout. Pat's attention to
detail and enthusiasm for fishing make him a great fly fisherman and
wilderness rafting guide. Who is Pat? Pat is a professional outdoor
action photographer following speed skiers down mountains at mock
speed, a past bungee cord business owner insuring safe jumps and a
extreme skiing competitor flying off snow capped cliffs. With the
drive to be the best and his competitive nature Pat is becoming one
of Alaska Adventures most well rounded top fly fishing guides with a
bright future. In the off season Pat can be found filming the
winter Olympics with NBC or extreme skiing in Canada as he is a
world class extreme action camera man with many
Skills.
Captain Miles Nolte
2 years
Raised in Kailua, Hawaii on the island of O'ahu.
Miles grew up spin casting for reef fish and spending summers in
Northern Wisconsin catching bass, pike, walleye, Muskie and panfish.
Miles received his undergraduate degree in California where he
discovered fly fishing and trout. After college, Miles moved to
Southern Africa where he was a teacher and spent his spare time
battling tigerfish on the Chobe River. For the past three years
Miles has been living in Southwestern Montana, spending every
possible moment fly fishing on some of the country's most storied
rivers and streams. Though a new member to the team of guides, Miles
brings with him experience and knowledge that will augment our
fantastic staff. Miles is a fine boat captain, guide school
instructor for fly tying and casting instructions. He is a
personable guide that knows how to put anglers on fish and make
anglers fishing dreams come true.In the off season Miles resides in
Bozeman fly fishing for trout and writing Fly fishing articles and
short stories taking advantage of his English literature degree
between ski instructing. look forward to reading your future
articles.
Captain Tyler
Busenbark 2 years
Raised in Fort Collins Colorado, Tyler is
working on a Degree in Forestry and Natural Resources at Front
Range Community College. Tyler grew up enjoying duck and goose
hunting, spin and bow fishing for walleye, and bait casting for
catfish. His love for fishing brought him to Alaska where he
recently graduated from our Alaska Adventures guide school. What Tyler lacks in Alaska
guiding experience he makes up for in his hard work and dedication to a
positive team atmosphere. With his never ending smiling and joking,
Tyler is fast becoming a seasoned guide with Alaska Adventures.
Chef Paul Blazine
Executive
Chef Paul Blazine graduated from the culinary institute of NY in
1973 and has been off and running ever since Preparing world class
meals all over the world at many of the top fishing lodges. Chef
Paul is an very extraordinary individual as he loves to fly fish for
Trout and Salmon and enjoys our true wilderness setting, We are very
happy that Chef Paul will be returning in 2007 to our lodge to offer
our guest's more extraordinary meals, Chef Paul specializes in
traditional American comfort foods with an Alaska Flair with many
recipes of fresh seafood and salmon. No one ever goes hungry with
chef Paul at the helm in the kitchen. From his homemade soups and
breads to his delicous Prime rib night every Saturday you are
assured of an epicurean delight.
Alaska Trophy Adventures main goal is to have the best Alaska
fishing guides working for them. Over the years we have acquired a
veteran staff of very experienced professional Alaska fly fishing
