GCI Alaska Airlines Mileage Program Sweepstakes
OFFICIAL RULES OF PLAY
July 9, 2006 through March 31, 2007
Eligibility: The sweepstakes is open to all Alaska residents, 18 years or older on the date of the drawing, except the employees and immediate families (spouses and parents, siblings, and children and their spouses) of GCI, Alaska Airlines, their affiliates or subsidiaries, their advertising agencies, sweepstakes designer, and any other company involved with this design, production, execution, or distribution of sweepstakes materials. For this sweepstakes, an Alaska resident is defined as an individual having either a valid Alaska Drivers License, proof of receipt of either a 2005 or later Alaska Permanent Fund dividend check, or a valid Alaska Voter's Registration Card. No purchase of goods or services is necessary for eligibility.
How to Enter: GCI Local telephone residential customers in Alaska with active accounts (defined as having new activity charges on their bills within the last sixty days) in good standing (without a past due balance in excess of $10) will be automatically entered into the sweepstakes and eligible to win the daily 40,000 Alaska Airline Mileage Plan Miles award.
Alaska residents who are not GCI customers, but who are otherwise eligible to participate, may enter by legibly hand-printing their:
- Complete name
- Address
- Contact phone number
- Email address if available
- Alaska Airlines Mileage Program number
- And the words "10 Million Mile Sweepstakes Drawing"
On a standard-sized postcard and mailing it to GCI 10 Million Mile Sweepstakes, P.O.Box 410, Palmer, AK 99645. Only one postcard per individual will be entered. Mechanically or electronically reproduced entries are invalid. Post card entries will be accepted with postmarks dated through March 15, 2007. Post card entries will be entered in to the drawing within 5 days after they are received and will remain in the drawing until all winners are drawn. Post card entries must be mailed and not hand delivered.
Drawing: A random drawing will be held daily starting Sunday, July 9, 2006 through March 31, 2007. Odds of winning the sweepstakes depend upon the number of valid entries. The drawing will be conducted by judges whose decisions in all matters relating to the sweepstakes are final. GCI reserves the right to change the start date, end date, and duration of the sweepstakes at any time.
Prizes: Daily one person will win a 40,000-Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan prize. It will be awarded subject to the terms and conditions of the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. The winners will be sent written notification by certified mail return receipt requested or by messenger service with 5 business days of the drawing. Each winner is limited to one prize per the duration of this contest.
Prize Claims: The winners will be required to show proof of age and Alaska residency as stated above and sign a written Affidavit of Eligibility, Publicity/Liability Release, and Taxpayer Identification Number. The proof of age and Alaska residency and a signed original of the Affidavit of Eligibility, Publicity/Liability Release, and Taxpayer Identification Number must be provided to GCI within ten business days of receipt of the written notification. Failure to comply may result in disqualification and forfeiture of the prize.
Winners List: To obtain a list of the prize winners, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to: GCI Alaska Airlines Mileage Program Sweepstakes Winners List, P.O. Box 410, Palmer, AK 99645 by April 30, 2007.
Resolution of Disputes: All entrants agree that any dispute concerning eligibility for participation in, or for the prizes awarded in this sweepstakes, must be first submitted in writing to GCI's panel of judges, whose decisions as to all matters related to the sweepstakes shall be final. Should any person never the less commence any litigation pertaining to this sweepstakes, such person agrees that venue for such litigation shall be proper only in the Superior Court of the State of Alaska, Third Judicial District, at Anchorage. Any claims brought must be filed within ninety days of the award of any prize. All entrants agree that GCI's liability to any entrant under this sweepstakes shall not exceed the cost of any (1) prize.
General: By participating, entrants acknowledge and agree to be bound by these rules and acknowledge and agree that the decisions of the judges are final. The winners hereby consent to the use of their names and/or likenesses by GCI for the purposes of advertising without compensation. Any tax liability is solely the responsibility of the winners. Sweepstakes void where prohibited by law. GCI is not responsible for late, lost, stolen, incomplete, illegible, postage due, or misdirected mail entries. Participants agree that GCI is not responsible for any physical injuries, property damage, or other damages incurred by a winner in the course of or as a result of any air travel awarded in this sweepstakes. Prizes are not exchangeable or transferable. All entries submitted via mail become the property of GCI and will not be returned. In the event of unavailability of the above stated prizes, GCI reserves the right to substitute a prize of comparable value. GCI reserves the right to correct errors in media announcement or printed materials in conjunction with this sweepstakes.
