Biography
Over the last 28 years Mike has built a practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, with a specialty in representing private equity funds. Mike represents private equity funds, privately and publicly-held corporations, partnerships, and REITs in connection with stock and asset sales, acquisition, and mergers, including leveraged buy-outs and acquisitions using publicly-traded securities. 

Mike regularly advises and counsels boards of directors and executives in connection with sensitive corporate matters and transactions, including takeover defenses, employment matters, acquisition inquiries, fiduciary duties, executive compensation, press releases and other documents, and financings and restructurings. As a result of his work on behalf of clients, Mike has been recognized by Chambers Global as a top lawyer in corporate/mergers & acquisitions in each of the last five years, and by The Best Lawyers in America as a leader in corporate law the last four years.

Mike is Administrative Partner of the firm’s Dallas, Texas, office, and Co-Section Head of the firm’s Corporate Finance and Securities Section.  Mike has also been  a member of the Management Committee of the firm and other firmwide committees. A leader in his community as well, Mike currently serves on the board of directors of the Vogel Alcove Childcare Center for the Homeless.
