Local family donates
land preservation agreement

In the final hours of 2006, one Central Oregon resident was able to grant a wish to her husband—to protect their land forever. Worried about increased development in the growing Cloverdale area, Bill and Ann Boyer decided last year to enlist the Deschutes Basin Land Trust’s help to permanently protect their land for wildlife. Read the full press release.

Skyline Forest update

As we mentioned in May, the Skyline Forest auction has been postponed.  The Land Trust is currently in discussions with the Skyline Forest owners.  At this stage, everything is looking quite favorable.  We will keep you updated as news develops, however, we ask that you keep in mind that this is potentially the largest transaction of its kind ever done in the Northwest and will take time and patience to bring to fruition.  The Land Trust is doing everything we can to conserve Skyline Forest.

Lands in Trust, Protected Forever

The Land Trust serves the Deschutes River Basin, an area which covers approximately 11% of Oregon and includes several of Oregon’s fastest growing counties: Deschutes, Jefferson, Crook, Wasco, Sherman, Klamath and Lake.
