The National Oceanographic
Data Center provides customers with both prepared, off-the-shelf products
such as publications, DVDs, CD-ROMs, and data products produced from data
selectively retrieved from the NODC archive. Requests for general
information and referral services should spell out both the information
required and the application for which it is needed. Knowing about
the problem the user is trying to solve often helps NODC to provide
more complete and relevant information.

NOTE:
Most data downloaded online is free of charge.
Customized requests, CD-ROMs, DVDs, and publications may have a user cost associated with the product.
Prices
for NODC data products and services are set in accordance with policy
guidelines of NOAA and the Department of Commerce. Every effort is
made to keep prices at a level that does not hinder access to data.
Government agencies, universities, depository libraries, and other
non-profit organizations in the United States are eligible to receive
NESDIS data products and services at discounted prices. Standard prices
have been established for one-to-one dataset copies; for customized
data selection and retrieval (on hard copy media or via FTP); and
for CD-ROM or DVD data products. Users working under time constraints needing
faster-than-normal service may request that their jobs be given priority
attention. Such rush orders are subject to an additional rush order
surcharge. (See standard prices below).
Payment
Methods
All
orders from non-Federal customers must be prepaid, unless the customer
meets strict criteria for a waiver of this requirement. Prepayment
may be made by:

coupons are accepted as payment.
Foreign
Wires should be sent directly to Bank One, NA, routing transit
code 0710-00013, with credit to DDA #11-71542 (NOAA National Data
Centers). You must add an additional $15 to your order to cover the
bank's service charge. Please allow one week for your electronic funds
transfer to be received at NNDC.
Charge
Cards from MasterCard, VISA, Discover, or American Express are accepted.
Cardholder's name, charge card number, and expiration data are required.
When indicating this method of payment through the mail or via fax,
the cardholder must sign the document authorizing the charge. Also,
you can now use your charge card to order through our online ordering
system.
Automated
Clearing House (ACH) is an electronic network which transfers funds
on your behalf from your financial institution to
ours. Please contact NCDC for details. Purchase orders can be accepted
from non-Federal customers only with prior approval
from the NODC.
NODC
Standard Unit Prices
A pricing
policy and price schedule for NOAA/NESDIS data and information products
and services is in effect. According to this policy, U.S. academic
institutions, government agencies, and other non-profit organizations
are entitled to receive a discount (of approximately 25%) off the
regular prices for their data orders. The following table lists data
and information products currently available from the National Oceanographic
Data Center along with the regular and discount prices for each item.
