Original
SurflonŽ is AFW's SurfstrandŽ with a smooth coating of nylon. A
specially selected grade of Nylon, tough and flexible, yet impervious to
water, is used to coat our stranded wire to seal out water and offer
good abrasion resistance. The coating improves the life of the line,
reduces visibility, and provides ease of handling. SurflonŽ is
excellent for making leaders and various types of rigs. Even the
hungriest Atlantic coast Bluefish can't chomp through this wire!
Available in Bright (clear nylon over bright stainless) and Black (black
nylon over stainless), and now Bleeding Red (red nylon over stainless).

Micro Ultra 19 strand is more flexible than the 1 x 7 Surflon.
It has a smooth nylon coating that adds kink resistance, provides
longer life, and makes the wire easy to knot. You can attach this
leader wire using common monofilament knots such as the Albright
knot, Clinch knot, Nail knot, Perfection Loop, Surgeon's Loop,
Uni-Knot etc. Low stretch and high sensitivity allow for fast
hook sets and remarkable performance. The limp, supple
qualities make it especially well-suited for fly fishing tippet and
predator leaders where life-like bait presentation is required along
with strong bite protection. Surflon Micro Ultra is an
excellent wire for Barracuda, Billfish, Bluefish, Pike, King Mackerel,
Shark, Wahoo, and other game fish.
