News Release:

Four Wineries Raise Funds for the BC/Yukon Chapter of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation for the Second Consecutive Year Vancouver, BC (October 16, 2006) For the second year, Goundrey, Hogue, Kumala and R.H. Phillips wineries are joining forces to help generate awareness about breast cancer and raise funds for breast cancer research and education.

During the Think Pink – Making a Difference promotion in the month of November, $1.00 from every bottle of Goundrey, Hogue, Kumala and R.H. Phillips wine sold in British Columbia will be donated to the BC Chapter of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

The four wineries raised $17,354 during November 2005 through the Think Pink – Making a Difference wine fund-raising program. This year the goal is to raise $30,000. While donations are made from the sale of all wines from participating wineries, four special wines will be featured on display at select BC Liquor Stores during November: Goundrey Unwooded Chardonnay 2005 ($12.99 CSPC # 60889), Hogue Pinot Grigio 2004 ($12.79 CSPC # 624486), Kumala Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz 2005 ($9.69 CSPC# 606657) and R.H. Phillips Shiraz 2002 ($12.99 CSPC# 576272). The public are invited to the 39th and Cambie Signature Liquor Store on Sunday November 5th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm to learn more from a Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation representative, and to sample a free taste of the four feature wines.

“While great strides have been made in recent years to create broader public awareness and effective treatment, there is still much work to be done before we can ensure a future without breast cancer,” notes winery spokesperson Danielle Giroux. “Breast cancer is a disease that affects many Canadians and their families and is something that has touched most of us. The most important aspect of this promotion is the awareness that is generates. Our promotion,“ she continues, “is the only breast cancer awareness event taking place in BC Liquor Stores, so we hope it will reach a new audience.”

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, BC/Yukon Chapter actively works across the province in the areas of the prevention, detection, treatment and cure of breast cancer. In British Columbia an estimated 2,700 women will develop breast cancer in 2006 and over 630 will die of the disease. For more information, please visit www.cbcf.org to see how you can contribute to create a future without breast cancer

The four wineries located in USA, South Africa and Australia belong to Vincor International

Jackson-Triggs Okanagan

For the first time ever a Canadian Shiraz, Jackson-Triggs Okanagan Estate Grand Reserve Shiraz 2004, has surpassed Australia and all other countries to take the award as “Best Shiraz Worldwide” at the prestigious IWSC in London England . This is a milestone not only for Jackson-Triggs, but for the Canadian wine industry as it is the first time that a Canadian red table wine has ever been awarded a trophy at this competition.

This win is an incredible honour for winemakers Bruce Nicholson, Brooke Blair, Derek Kontkanen and Rob Scapin along with viticulturists Mark Sheridan and Troy Osborne. Please help me in wishing congratulations to the entire Jackson-Triggs team across the country on this tremendous achievement!

Township 7 Has new owner

Originally opened in 2001 by Corey and Gwen Coleman, Township 7 is under new ownership! The Township 7 team is committed to maintaining the quality of its wine and the new owners have been working diligently to enhance the appearance and experience of the Penticton vineyards and winery. Township 7 produces complex, flavorful handcrafted wines in small lots sourced from the best grapes in the south Okanagan Valley on the renowned Black Sage Road and from Township 7's own vineyards in Langley and Penticton . Township 7 will continue to produce exceptional wine in its award-winning tradition.

Our family owned and operated winery is located in Penticton on the picturesque rolling hillsides of the Naramata Bench – perhaps the most scenic wine region in all of North America and renowned for its prime agricultural land. Two acres of grape vines were imported from France planted on the seven acre property in the spring of 2004, and additional French vines were planted in 2005 and 2006.  The combined production facility and tasting room was completed and opened in the summer of 2004, and offers visitors the opportunity to see the workings of the winery first hand
