U.S. Court of Federal Claims Judge Paul Wiese has ruled against the Casitas Water District claim to federal compensation for its mandatory water for steelhead.

According to this report from the Interior Department's Inspector General, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Fish, Wildlife and Parks has "interfered with scientific findings for Fish and Wildlife staff as relative to Endangered Species Act", including Delta Smelt and Bull Trout. 

Because of imperiled fish species, Alameda County Judge Frank Roesch has given the Department of Water Resources 60 days to stop pumping water from the San Francisco Bay Delta.
