Fishing Charters

Seward is home to some of Alaska's finest sport fishing. Anglers will find excellent fishing almost year-round in Seward. Here, fishermen and women have the chance to feel the arm-burning power of a giant Pacific Halibut, fight an acrobatic Silver (Coho) Salmon on light tackle, catch a trophy Lingcod, or troll for Alaska's renowned King (Chinook) Salmon.

Halibut fishing begins in March and continues into October. Silver Salmon return by the thousands to the waters around Seward in late June and run into early September, with the annual Silver Salmon Derby being held in August. Fishing for winter feeder King Salmon runs from September - June, and Lingcod season opens July 1st.

Seward has over 30 fishing charter operators, ready to take you on the fishing trip of your lifetime!

Trail Rides & Bird Viewing

Trail Rides! "Come ride down the river to the shores of Resurrection Bay. This area of Seward is only accessible by horse back. View bald eagles up close, see where they nest and watch them feed. It is rare that you can't ride your horse right under the trees where they majestically perch. We will ride through part of the old town of Seward that was destroyed by the great earthquake of 1964. You will hear the stories of the people who lived through it. Our horses will then take us to the shore of the bay where the wild flowers meet the ocean. The bird life of this area is very diverse, active and up close. This Trail Ride could very well be the wilderness highlight of your trip to Seward and Alaska.  See it all with Bardy's Trail Rides.

Cruise Kenai Fjords

Cruise Kenai Fjords National Park to see the hundreds of islands, fjords, glaciers, and pristine coves. One of the great beauties of America's national park system, Kenai Fjords provides the adventurer a chance to view whales, seals, sea lions, otters, puffins, and many other wild animals in their natural environment. Choose from any of our guide services.

Hiking, camping & Scenic Drives

Back on land, take a scenic drive to nearby Exit Glacier and walk a paved path to view part of the massive Harding Ice Field. Nearby Caines Head State Recreation Area and the Chugach National Forest also offer a variety of backwoods hiking, cabins, and camping activities.

Sealife Center

Experience the miracle of our seas through underwater viewing tanks, interactive exhibits and many other live displays. You will see the endangered Stellar sea lions, harbor seals, and sea birds. It is the worlds first cold water marine institute, dedicated to preserving the marine environment through research, rehabilitation, and education. The Sea Life Center is open year-round.
