GCI ConnectMD Announces Successful Implementation of Electronic Medical Record system at the Kodiak Community Health Center
GCI today announced the successful implementation of the PrognoCIS Electronic Medical Record (EMR) service by Bizmatics at the Kodiak Community Health Center (KCHC) in Kodiak, Alaska. GCI ConnectMD installed this EMR service to function over the ConnectMD network, which is the largest medical network in the Pacific Northwest. This EMR service represents one of the first deployments in Alaska of a Web-based health record system, resulting in lower costs of implementation and ongoing patient care for the clinic.

Major Investment from GCI Bolsters Wenatchee-Based Medical Network
GCI has completed the purchase of Modern Networking, a Wenatchee-based company which operates a 30-site medical network ("MedWAN") spanning from Western to Eastern Washington. With GCI's investment and integration of MedWAN customers into the GCI ConnectMD platform, the network of connected facilities expands to more than 140 clinics, hospitals and medical corporations across Washington and Alaska.
