Kho samui
Ko Samui, Thailand is Thailand's third largest island and is still a place of relatively untouched beauty. It has a temperate climate and rarely reaches below 25 degrees. The rainy season occurs in late October and November. The tropical island is developing rapidly and new attractions and services are added almost daily, however it will still take some time for the island to reach the level of development of its counterpart, Phuket. Ko Samui is the perfect place to come for a relaxing, comfortable holiday.
Chaweng Beach
Chaweng Beach is the busiest entertainment center on Ko Samui. Home to hundreds of bars, nightclubs, and restaurants, it is the perfect place to go for an evening of entertainment. There is also good shopping to be found in Chaweng, although the prices are more reasonable in Nathon. Too many options to list here, we can recommend several things to see and do once you're here. Just come see us in the office and we'll point you in the right direction.
Lamai Beach
Lamai Beach, the second largest entertainment area on Kho Samui, is a bit more sedate version of Chaweng. There are still many bars and restaurants to choose from, but it has a bit more of a relaxed feel to it. If you're looking to watch the biggest sports matches or get your grooove on then Bauhaus is the place to go. The largest entertainment complex in Lamai, Bauhaus has a huge dance floor which is home to the weekly foam party, two lengthy bars, a waterfall in the center, pool tables, and a large screen TV.
If you're looking for something a bit more sedate, stop by the Kho Samui Gallery Cafe, across the street. They have the best Pina Coladas in Lamai, which you can enjoy while relaxing on Thai cushions which a spread generously throughout the room. The beautiful decorations, comfortable surroundings and nice mix of chillout trance give this artists' cafe a suprisingly contemporary feel.
Finally, if you're in the mood for a beer and a good chat, then head to the Lava Lounge or the Billabong, two bars which are good fun and usually filled with fun people. Tell them Rocky's sent you and they'll be sure to take care of you.
Nathon
If you're looking to shop while you're in Ko Samui, then Nathon is the place to go. Although you won't find much to do in Nathon after 6 pm as there are no bars or nightlife to be seen, by day it is a shopper's paradise. There are numerous vendors and shops selling furniture, clothing, shoes, artwork, handbags, jewelry, and gifts for much more reasonable prices than you would find them in Chaweng. Bartering is still encouraged, however, as the unsuspecting tourist can pay too much if he or she isn't careful.
Bophut
Bophut, also known as fisherman’s village is a charming town located on the northern part of Ko Samui. Thanks to the local government’s strict rules against the seedier element of Thailand’s nightlife, the area has remained charming and traditional. There are numerous cafe’s and small restaurants lining the waterfront, and it’s a perfect place for a quiet, romantic evening.
