Carolina First

$2 billion and counting

Goal Progress

The Carolina First Campaign is the drive to support Carolina's vision to become the nation's leading public university. The drive, which ends Dec. 31, 2007, broke its $2 billion goal on Feb. 21, 2007, but aims to capitalize on the campaign's momentum by raising another $100 million to support faculty and reaching unmet goals in schools, units and special campaigns, as well as building projects.

Each year, private funding and investment income provide some 20 percent of the University's budget — creating Carolina's margin of excellence.
