Newcastle Fight Night December 10 Postponed
For the past 3 weeks we have been negotiating through our US agent Don Majeski to bring the WBA Light Heavy Champion, Italian Silvio Branco, to Australia for a voluntary defence of his world title in early February. All terms and conditions have been agreed.
However, as Branco obtained his undisputed belt (he was initially the interim champ) via the retirement of the then champion Fabrice Tiozzo, the WBA rules state he must first defend against the number 1 contender. This is Stipe Drews of Croatia. Negotiations continue between all and the WBA with the Croatian's obviously pushing their case and the Italians ours and theirs.
Given we are only 4 weeks out from our proposed fight in Newcastle and unable to confirm an opponent, pending the outcome of the above negotiations, we have decided to postpone this fight. To cancel at this stage involves minimum inconvenience to all involved.
It is expected Danny will fight late January / early February should the world title fight not eventuate. In any event we will keep you informed as news comes to hand.

Letter From Danny
G'day everyone, Danny here.
As you may have heard, Green Machine promotions was proud to announce yesterday my upcoming world title eliminator against Manny Siaca from Puerto Rico.
Siaca is a former world champion, with an impressive record of 20-6, with 18 ko's. he is well known in Australia for taking the world title off of my arch rival.
His father and trainer, Manny Siaca Snr has trained 23 world champions, including his own son Manny , so this is a very experienced team heading to our shores.
I expect a very tough fight against a large, power punching lightheavyweight , whom as a former champ, has been in 6 world title fights.
The I.B.O. has made this an elimination bout for the vacant title , soon to be contested by Antonio Tarver, who is the great roy jones jnrs conqueror. If Tarver does not make the weight limit to contest the bout, then the I.B.O. have said the fight between myself and Siaca will be for the official title. I am ranked I.B.F.6 , W.B.A. 7 , and Siaca is ranked W.B.A. 7 and I.B.F. 15, so this is a fight between 2 lightheavies ranked in the top 10.
The I.B.O. title has gained great recognition recently, with champions like Lennox Lewis, Bernard Hopkins, Antonio Tarver, Roy Jones jnr all being former holders. Current champions are heavyweight Vladimeer Klitchsko, Kostya Tszyu's conqueror Ricky Hatton , and pound for pound top ten , and number 1 flyweight in the world, my mate Vic 'the raging bull' Darchinian. As you can see, the list of current and past champions is very impressive, hence the respect the I.B.O. is currently recieving.
Preparation for the fight started yesterday, and i will keep you updated on how training is going.
Thankyou for the support,
kind regards,
Danny.
P.S. Have a safe and Happy Easter.
