Information on Shipping %26 PackagingGorton's Fresh Seafood does everything possible to make sure your order arrives in prime condition. We send your order overnight via FedEx in specially constructed, refrigerated shipping containers to keep your seafood cold, delicious, and at the peak of freshness.
Shipping InformationWe offer two shipping options -- Expedited Shipping and "Shop Early and Save $5" 1. For Expedited Shipping, orders received before 7:00 p.m. EST Sunday through Thursday, will be shipped via FedEx Standard Overnight service the following business day. For example, if you place your order on Tuesday before 7:00 p.m. EST, it will be received on Thursday of the same week. Orders received after 7:00 p.m. EST will be shipped a day later. 2. We offer our "Shop Early and Save $5" shipping option so that our staff can have extra time to prepare and pack your order. If you can place your order more than 2 business days before it needs to be shipped, we'll pass the extra savings on to you by taking $5 off your shipping total. Orders received before 7:00 p.m. EST Sunday through Thursday will be shipped on the second business day after the order is placed. For example, if you place your order on Monday before 7:00 p.m. EST, it will be received on Thursday of the same week. Please note: To ensure maximum freshness, we are not able to ship over weekends. We can, however, schedule Saturday delivery for an additional fee of $15 per order.
Please keep in mind that you may always specify a later delivery if you wish. Orders can be placed up to 60 days in advance. All orders placed more than 2 business days in advance qualify for the Shop Early and Save $5 shipping option. All orders are shipped via FedEx Overnight Delivery to ensure maximum freshness. For this reason we can only ship to the 48 contiguous states (overnight delivery is not available to Hawaii and Alaska). Your order will be confirmed by email upon receipt. You will also receive notification when your order is shipped, including order-tracking information for your convenience. Please be advised that the following restrictions apply to the sale of Maine Lobster Tails: In accordance with the laws set forth by several New England states, we are not able to ship Maine Lobster Tails to Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. Gortons Fresh Seafood makes every effort to comply with both national and local laws that govern the seafood industry. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to you, and suggest that if you do want to send an order to one of these states that you choose one of our other lobster tail selections such as Rock Lobster Tails or Rock Lobster Turf and Tails, or any of our other live lobster or seafood offerings. PackagingAll orders are sent in specially-constructed shipping containers with gel packs or dry ice to keep your seafood cold. On occasion, additional insulation is used inside to protect your order. We take special care to keep live seafood products, such as clams and lobsters, alive on arrival. Each seafood item you order will have a product label complete with handling and storage information. AvailabilityDue to ever changing weather and supply conditions out of our control, occasionally an item will become unavailable after an order is placed. Should that happen we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss substituting another item of equal or greater value, or changing the delivery timing. Delivery TermsSeafood products are very perishable. All our shipments are packed with ample refrigerant to maintain the product in average weather conditions for the shipping period (estimated conservatively to allow for some extra time). It is recommended that someone be available to receive shipments from Gorton's Fresh Seafood upon delivery, or shortly thereafter. If you are sending a gift to someone, please notify them when to expect the delivery. If no one is available, and the package is left unattended for an extended period (especially in hot climates), we cannot guarantee that the seafood will remain in good condition. Upon receipt we recommend that you unpack the shipper contents as soon as possible and store the seafood in the refrigerator and/or freezer, as appropriate, to maintain optimum freshness. The shipping containers are not suitable for storing your product after receipt. Please check the shipping address carefully for errors. We cannot guarantee shipments that FedEx is unable to deliver.
