Once we had dinner with a potential client at a restaurant. While making our presentation, we used such words and abbreviations as "CGI", "PHP", "hosting", "MySQL", etc. After the first minute of speech we noticed that the prospect looked completely lost. "Are you all right?", I asked. His reply hit us like a brick wall. He said: "Were you speaking in a foreign language?"
Sometimes it is very difficult for web developers and clients to find a common language. Most clients don't know specific computer and programming terms and a web developer can't explain to the client some situations without using them.
To solve the problem and help our clients understand us, we have created this Glossary of Internet Terms, Abbreviations and Acronyms.
