Invasive Quagga Mussels Identified in California
DFG is working as part of a multi-agency effort to determine the spread of the invasive Quagga mussel. A toll-free number has been established to offer information and advice to the public. Since they were discovered in Nevada's Lake Mead, Quagga mussels have been found at Lake Havasu, and about 14 miles to the north.

After several years of control and containment efforts at Lake Davis, the state has formally announced plans to eradicate the predatory, non-native northern pike.
