GetNetWise does not track visitors on our Web site. Our site automatically captures limited information about visits to our site. We use this information only to analyze general traffic patterns (e.g. what pages are most/least popular) and to perform routine system maintenance.

If you choose to contact us and provide personally identifiable information about yourself, we will use this information only to respond to your inquiry (e.g. If we need to mail you materials, we will disclose your name and mailing address to the Post Office). We will not sell or rent that information to third parties.

Advertising Test on GetNetWise Using Google

GetNetWise is conducting an advertising test using Google Adsense ads placed within GetNetWise.org. This is only a test to determine whether advertising can help the GetNetWise project sustain its charitable mission to help educate families and consumers about using the Internet in a safe, secure and rewarding way. Whether it is appropriate to continue to serve advertising on GetNetWise.org is another matter and we will consider all the implications after the test has been completed. Nevertheless, during the test GetNetWise.org uses Google Adsense to place ads on this Web site. We expect to complete our test by the first week of May 2006.

During this process, Google Adsense collects anonymous information about your visit. This information may include the Internet Service Provider you use to connect to the Internet, your browser type, or the type of computer operating system you use (Macintosh or Windows). The information collected by them is used for the purpose of targeting the advertisements you see.
