About Gorton's
Gorton's featured in the August 2004 edition of Refrigerated & Frozen Foods magazine.
A lot has changed since we began selling seafood in 1849.
Our modern-day lives have drastically altered the way we eat dinner. With
work, carpooling, and daily errands, it's tough to get the whole family
to sit down together.
Your Dinnertime has evolved, and Gorton's products have evolved with you.
Better tasting than ever and true time-savers, serving Gorton's means
less time in the kitchen and more time with your family.
While we've improved our products over the years, the one thing that hasn't
changed is our commitment to quality, families, and our community. You
can trust the Gorton's Fisherman.
Gorton's is a family, we like it that way. Our family
is proud to continue a tradition of bringing the bounty of the sea to
America. It's all about regular people helping regular people provide
their families with easy meal options. Click

A lot of interesting things can happen in 150 years.
And while we can't possibly fit all the details into a few pages, we can
offer you a little insight into our story, and believe us, The
Gorton's Story is not your average company history!

History Timeline!
Gloucester (that's Glaw-ster) is a legendary town. The cradle of the American
fishing industry, Gloucester - unlike some historic places - remains an exciting
place to be. It was well known as a fishing town, even before the first Gorton's
fishing boats left its harbor. Come have a Glimpse
at Gloucester and see why even the high school football team is called "The
Fishermen".
With
gale-force winds at their backs (and often in their faces) the men who
have crewed Gloucester fishing boats have faced constant threats to their
lives to bring their catches home. Learn about the perils of fishing the
Grand Banks of Newfoundland and George's Shoal in Facing
the Fury.
