Pets
a dog left in a hot car

Pets must always be leashed. Pets are allowed only on paved areas such as the cave trail exit, the Chalet breezeway, or the parking areas. Pets are not allowed in the cave.

Remember Your Pet!

Check with the Visitor Center for the best place to park your car if you intend on leaving an animal behind during a tour. However, the parking lots have limited shade. Be sure animals left in the car have adequate ventilation and water. Your shaded car could later be under the sun and reach temperatures up to 110F (43C)!
