Poster Distribution and Media Attention
| NCMEC's partnerships with major corporations, major television
networks, and leading nationwide publications allow NCMEC access to broadcast
and print media that can be used to make the public aware of cases of missing
children. In this way NCMEC can coordinate national media exposure of missing-children
cases.
NCMEC's ability to distribute posters alerting
the nation to the case of a missing child is extensive and reliable.
- NCMEC has a large network of private-sector partners
who post pictures of and information about missing children.
- NCMEC has a partnership with the direct-mail, marketing-services company, ADVO®, which
distributes mail-cards with missing-children photographs in up to 79 million
households throughout the U.S. each week.
- Missing-children posters are accessible on NCMEC's multilingual, searchable, web-site database.
- NCMEC maintains an up-to-date library of missing-child posters on
the CompuServe® national, state-clearinghouse, private bulletin
board.
