Versailles - Les Grandes Eaux Nocturnes
Walk around the Gardens of the Chateau de Versaille at Nightfall |
|
Experience the magic of the illuminations and fountain displays in the groves and terraces.
The ‘Grandes Eaux Nocturnes de Versailles’ gives visitors an opportunity to enjoy the evocative atmosphere of the gardens of Versailles by night...
There’s a new twist to the event this year. Five young visual artists Louis Dandrel, Francis Kurkdjian, Getsound, Ludovis Rivalan and Eric Gall (video-makers and light and sound designers) have taken over the gardens and set up their fairytale creations (light effects, sound installations, video screenings, music and fireworks) all along the itinerary.
At nightfall in the gardens of the Chateau de Versailles with its lights and water features, an astonishing visual and sound promenade. The walk takes you amidst the copses and flower beds to the sound of a great contemporary chorus of baroque and contemporary music. This magical stroll finishes in front of the Grand Canal with a superb firework display.
A firework display on the theme of the landscapes of dreams, created by pyrotechnic specialists Groupe F against the backdrop of the Grand Canal will bring this fairy tale experience to a spectacular close. |

Mariage Freres
It's tea time |
|
Four hundred and fifty teas from 32 countries is a very good reason for taking the time to visit one of the Mariage Freres stores in Paris.
These teashops and salons feel straight out of another country, but not in a hoity-toity way. It has a cute, low-key café, and its Birthday Tea blend-which comes in a pretty canister-makes a great gift. |

Buddha Bar
One of the world best bar |
|
A popular haunt with drinkers and diners alike, it’s easy to while away the hours here over cocktails or with a dish from their well-balanced menu.
Subtly lit and lorded over by an enormous buddha, this temple stays at the forefront of Paris cool. You might think it’s the Buddha that attracts the oh-so-trendy set here, as it’s always flattering to stand next to someone more rotund, but there’s more to it than that.
Although meals and drinks can be pricey, the atmosphere is without compare. In addition, top DJs ably deliver mood-setting tunes that underscore the scene - if you like, you can even buy a CD to take along.
