Internet Explorer Version 5.0
(Includes all 5.X versions) Click on the video tutorials below to learn how to erase local remnants of your browsing activities that remain on your computer even when you are offline. Each of the video illustrations is accompanied by step-by-step instructions in text as reference.
Clear History & Delete Temporary Internet Files
History: This video tutorial shows you how to erase or "clear" your history folder that contains your "history" of recently visited sites. You can view your history by clicking on the History icon in your browser. Clearing your history file will prevent those who share your computer from viewing where you have recently traveled. Clearing the history file also clears the list of Web addresses in the "Address" pull down bar. Cache: The video tutorial also shows you how to delete "Temporary Internet Files," otherwise known as "cache" files. The cache file contains images and text of many of the Web sites you recently visited. Like your history file, these cache files reflect your recent browsing history and deleting these files will prevent others, with whom you share your computer, from seeing these files on your computer. |
