Travel to Katmai National Park and King Salmon Alaska is simple. Book commercial airline service to King Salmon (AKN), Alaska. Located 300 miles southwest of Anchorage, Penn Air or Alaska Air has three flights departing Anchorage (ANC) to King Salmon daily. We ask clients to arrive the evening before the departure of your bear viewing trip, or no later then 10:00 am the day off. If arriving the evening before, we  highly recommended the Ponderosa Inn. Upon arrival in King Salmon Alaska Airport call the Hotel on the airport courtesy phone and you will be picked up in 5 minutes by the hotel van. There is a great restaurant & Bar/lounge at the hotel, two other restaurants close by, two bars, and a store within 200 yards of the hotel. Sunday morning you will get up around 8, have a relaxing breakfast and we will have our courtesy van meet you Sunday morning around 10am. You can pick up any last minute items at the local store in King Salmon to include alcoholic beverages and also purchase your Alaska fishing licenses if you plan to fish. From here we transport you to the start of your trip.
