Taking money online

If you have an online shop then you will need to use a third company to except payment for the money online. There are many companies to use and they all have their pros and cons. Affordable Services have worked with most of these companies and can integrate our shopping carts and websites.

PayPal
A very popular method that is growing is PayPal. Visit http://www.paypal.co.uk/ for information on their services. The benefits is that it is more or less free to set up an account. They will take a very small debit charge to check your account (less than £1) and there are no monthly costs for a standard account. It is very easy to integrate a site to PayPal and is ideal for a one off payment that is not via a shopping site like a one off service charge where the value can be pre-set and configured by us.

The downside to PayPal is that users have to set up an account themselves and if they do not have an account themselves it will take them several days before they can shop with you. This removes the impulse buying from your website and that instant online transaction.

WorldPay
Most of the shopping websites we develop we recommend WorldPay - http://www.worldpay.co.uk/ - WorldPay is a safe and secure method that can be configured and integrated to your shopping site enabling you to be fully online. They also have a service enabling you to take phone orders via an online PDQ system. With WorldPay you will need to set up an account. Please check their website for charges. One of the downsides is that you will not get your money until the month after they take it.

With all online merchants there is always charges for taking credit cards, and debit cards. Charges do vary so please ensure you find out all the required information so you can decided on the prices for your website. Also look in to their information regarding Chargebacks.
