    Driving directions from McCarran International Airport: Exit the airport via Paradise Rd, then bear right onto Swenson St. Turn left on E Tropicana Ave and drive for about 1.4 miles. The hotel is on the left; make a U-turn or go around the block to reach it.

    Getting there: The best way to get to the hotel from the airport is a taxi ($5–$15; fees subject to change without notice) or rental car.

    Getting around: There are several options available for visiting other casinos on the Strip. City buses (less than $5) run up and down the Strip; private trollies (less than $5) serve many of the larger casinos. Many guests choose to walk. Taxis are readily available, and guests who drive will find complimentary parking at most locations. For travel outside the Strip, a rental car is the best option. The 22-story Paradise Tower is just off the casino floor and features views of the Las Vegas Strip. The 21-story Island Tower is located near the Tropicana Convention Facilities and the five-acre tropical gardens and pool area; it is connected to the main casino by an enclosed walkway lined with specialty boutiques. The low-rise Garden Tower overlooks a five-acre garden/pool area with tropical foliage, waterfalls, and pools.

    What to expect: A legendary Strip hotel, the Tropicana carries photographic memories on its walls of the entertainment giants who have performed here since the resort opened in 1957. Traditions such as sexy showgirls, comedians, crooners, and low-priced meals are carefully preserved. Older guests welcome the ease of getting around. Younger guests appreciate the moderate pricing.

    ENTERTAINMENT
    In its fifth decade, the Folies Bergere continues paying spectacular homage to French cabaret entertainment in song and dance and features showgirls in elaborate headdresses. The chorus line keeps tops on for an evening show in the Tiffany Theatre and doffs them for a late-night appearance.

    Afternoons in the Tiffany Theatre, magician Rick Thomas offers a family-friendly illusions show featuring tigers and beautiful women. This is the longest-running daytime show in Las Vegas.

    Afternoons and nights, air play aerialists accompanied by showgirls perform a free show above gaming tables in the casino. Daily except Thursdays, the Tropics Lounge offers a free exotic-bird show. At night, the lounge presents rock, funk, and R&B; bands. The Celebration Lounge presents live musical acts nightly.

    The Comedy Stop at the Trop features various comedians twice nightly.

    Casino Legends Hall of Fame is a gaming museum containing more than 15,000 pieces of memorabilia.

    The 55,000-square-foot Casino supplies slots, video poker, backjack, craps, roulette, keno, and a race and sports book.

    Free membership cards in the Winners Club permit slot and table players to accumulate points redeemable for cash, comps, and merchandise. From time to time, other benefits such as T-shirts and a ticket to the Folies Bergere show are offered new members.
