Enroll in Earth Science courses designed for educators and improve your conceptual understanding of geology, astronomy, meteorology and oceanography. In the process, acquire an Add-On Earth Science Endorsement, become better prepared to teach Earth Science topics to middle school students, or enhance your ability to work with special education students on Earth Science topics. If you are already endorsed in Earth Science, then improve your knowledge of Virginia’s Geology.

All courses are for graduate credit. If you are in a graduate program, then talk with your advisor about enrollment. If you are interested in graduate programs that combine science and education, then talk with contacts at George Mason University, the University of Virginia, or Virginia Commonwealth University about your options.

The Virginia Earth Science Collaborative is a partnership of nine institutes of higher education and non-profits and more than seventy school divisions. Funding is provided through a competitive Mathematics & Science Partnership (MSP) grant funded through Title II, Part B, of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.
