Shimano fishing reels this year
If you’re like me, every Spring you get a nearly uncontrollable urge
to buy new gear. This year I have my eye on some of the new
Shimano fishing reels. I’m a sucker for any rod or reel boasting new
technology or a slick new look. And Shimano has a really nifty new
low-corrosion ball bearing design going into their latest fishing
reels. This will be a ‘must have’ reel, especially if you fish in
saltwater!

Shimano Calcutta TE
If you like round baitcasting styles, the Shimano Calcutta TE line-up
is superb. These fishing reels have a compact golden metal casing
with black plastic reel grips. They are very easy to operate and
function well in all weather conditions.
Shimano Stella
For anglers who prefer a spinning style of reel, the Shimano Stella
series is ideal. This line of exceptional fishing reels offers longer
casting distance, excellent drag performance, and one of the smoothest
retrievals imaginable. Highly recommended!
Shimano Calais
If a low profile model is more your style, the Shimano Calais line is
terrific. These one-piece, aluminum fishing reels sport the latest
anti-corrosion A-RB ball bearings. Very durable!
Shimano Tiagra
Saltwater fishermen will want to check out the Shimano Tiagra models.
These conventional fishing reels feature unique drag performance,
allowing anglers to gradually reduce drag pressure to allow a fish on
the line to run without dropping into freespool.
Shimano Thunnus
Finally, if you prefer saltwater spinning styles, the Shimano Thunnus
series is perfect. These fishing reels combine smooth action and
excellent durability for rough ocean conditions.
