ViaRail provides passenger rail service in Canada.  It offers year round train service between Vancouver and Jasper, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto and other major cities in central and eastern Canada.

VIA Rail’s trains offer several types of sleeping accommodations, observation domes and lounges. Meals are included when you purchase sleeping accommodations on the Silver & Blue Service between Vancouver and Jasper, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Toronto.

The trip from Vancouver to Jasper is about 17 hours long.  Vancouver to Toronto is a three day trip while Vancouver to Montreal takes four days. The trip right across the country to Halifax is nearly six days long.

Amtrak offers passenger service between Vancouver and many destinations in the United States.  The trip from Vancouver to Seattle takes about four hours.
