Stanley Park is a thousand acre public park
situated between downtown Vancouver and the Lions Gate Bridge.
Seen here from a distance, Stanley park is located on a peninsula that
jets out into the ocean and is covered by lush west coast vegetation.
Portions of Stanley Park have been developed into a rose garden, an
outdoor theatre, a totem pole park and an Aquarium.
The Stanley Park seawall which circles the park and is a
popular route for walkers, cyclists and roller bladers. In July and
August, the Malkin Bowl Theatre offers the best of musical theatre under
the stars.
In the winter time, a small Christmas train takes children
through the forest to view Christmas scenes decorated with Christmas
lights. While waiting for the train, one can enjoy roasted
chestnuts or take a horse and buggy ride through the forest.
