iCalendar 1.8

Internet Calendar Creation Program
Cre
ators: YENCO.COM and Simcor
Shareware: USD $20 (single-user); free updates

iCalendar is one of those programs that gets frequent updates. Among other enhancements, version 1.8 adds the option of PNG format (previously only JPEG), a software update feature, and adds more customization settings and pre-defined color sets.

Version 1.8 also introduces a major nuisance in the form of its browser-readable documentation. I'm baffled as to why Yenco chose to spread it over 72 web pages, especially when most pages contain only one or two brief paragraphs. Not only is the documentation awkward to navigate, but it almost certainly means no one will print a reference copy. Perhaps the next version will fix this shortcoming—and perhaps offer it in PDF as well.

iCalendariCalendar is a program designed to share calendar data on the internet. Put another way, it's an application for creating monthly calendars that you can publish as JPEG images or as HTML code. You'll see examples of the smallest-size calendars at left and on the MacChamp 'meetings' page.

If your club or organization needs to share monthly calendar information on the web, you'll find that iCalendar is a practical solution. It's easy to work with and provides colorful results that Mac users will instantly recognize. The creators frequently add new features.

Some features of current version:

iCalendar is compatible with Mac OS 9 and OS X Classic environment. Free 30-day evaluation period. Requires Mac OS 7.1 or later, a 68030 processor or later or PowerPC, at least 4 MB of RAM and up to 3 MB of disk space.
